Life Giving Fruits
Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control; The Fruits Of The Spirit, and arguably, nine of the greatest personality traits that anyone could possess. If you could choose just one of those traits to focus on each day, or for a full week, how would it help your relationships? Each of us possess these qualities, we just need to allow them to shine through. Love: it’s the super glue to all aspects of life for, without it, nothing would matter. Love is the driving force and motivator behind all things. Joy: it’s the feeling, emotion, and delight behind happiness. The fruit of joy is the ability to find a silver lining in the midst of the hardest of times. Peace: a great tranquility that is found by deflecting the crippling pain or anxiety that life can bring. Peace can be the most difficult to attain, as it is one that requires constant redirect of thinking in order to keep fixed on remaining peaceful. Patience: unmoved by long-suffering from either waiting for something to happen, or from having patience with others and yourself. Patience is such a strong characteristic because with it several other traits follow such as kindness, gentleness, and self-control. With patience, comes anything else desired because there is understanding with it. Kindness: marked by a concern for others, it is the most ethical characteristic as it is a behavior and an insight into the condition of the heart. Kindness is being the one to care when no one else does, it is showing compassion and empathy when others will not. Kindness is what the world needs more of, as it is the backbone of love. Kindness is love on display. Goodness: this trait of being good and showing good, is what allows the world to see that there is still good that exists. Goodness looks like welcoming a neighbor into your home for a meal or donating to help a cause or need. Faithfulness: unshaken by trials and tribulation, while remaining steadfast in the hope of what Christ has promised us. Loyal, devoted, and stable are such traits that are grown from faithfulness. Gentleness: the soft, tender mannerisms that are marked by an outstretched arm, longing to help and teach in any needed way. Self-control: the ability to not give in when temptations arise. Self-control is a highly sought after trait that is crucial for anger issues, dieting or eating right, and focusing while distractions are around. These are the nine life-giving Fruits Of The Spirit. They outline the way we should all interact with one another, and they quietly correct and bring conviction where change is needed. These fruit-bearing qualities have the power to change lives and restore relationships. Maybe there is a quality that you would like to possess more of, and eventually be able to attain all of these fruit-bearing traits. Just know that you have the ability to do so through Jesus Christ.
